Performing
Little did I know I'd ever be back in Colorado with a viola in my hands.  This photo was taken on vacation in Estes Park the summer after my beginning string year.

Sarah Richardson is a violist and teacher who has called Colorado her home for the past 15 years.  Her love of classical music was fostered by her mother, who loved opera and her father, who loves Beethoven.  Sarah's passion for chamber music was fostered by her first private teacher, T. Burns Westman of Oklahoma City, OK. She performed and competed with the Oklahoma City Junior Symphony Quartet throughout middle and high school. Ms. Richardson is an alumni of The Quartet Program, a summer program dedicated to teaching and performing chamber music, from 1974-1977. She graduated with a BFA in Viola Performance from the State University of New York College at Purchase where she was a student of Heidi Castleman. Prior to moving to the Front Range area, Sarah performed with the Oklahoma City Symphony, the Dallas Symphony, the Dallas Opera and the Omaha Symphony. In 2004, Ms. Richardson founded the Littleton Youth Symphony, a string chamber orchestra.  Currently she is a member of the Central City Opera Orchestra, the Hausmusik Quartet of Colorado Springs, the Mercury Ensemble and the Colorado Springs Philharmonic.  In addition she is the principal violist of the Colorado Chamber Orchestra and the Lone Tree Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Richardson also performs with the Colorado Symphony, Inside the Orchestra and the Colorado Ballet.
